Daniel’s journey in architecture began at a young age, when he took an interest in building physical (and later, digital) models of the places that captured his imagination as a child: landmarks, stadiums, and other places he frequented with his family. When he arrived in the Bay Area for college, he was immediately drawn to Berkeley’s lively urban pulse–a stark contrast to the more modest cadence of El Paso, his hometown. Daniel’s interdisciplinary training, internship in London, and experiences in the Bay Area engendered his interest in the urban boundary, informing his place-oriented design approach. A budding designer with mid-scale housing and residential project experience, Daniel explores the ways architecture mediates human and urban scales to enrich community living.
When he’s not in the studio, Daniel can be found exploring New York City, playing rock music, and cheering the Seattle Seahawks. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at UC Berkeley.
