Emily Jones

AIA, LEED AP BD+C / Senior Associate, Senior Architect

Emily is the kind of designer who wants to do something new and impactful on every project. She pours this curiosity into design research that helps us innovate with materials and structural solutions that minimize embedded carbon while supporting local economies. Emily was a key player on the AIA COTE Top Ten Award-winning Sonoma Academy, which was the first project in the U.S. to be awarded both Zero Carbon and Petal Certification by the International Living Future Institute. With a portfolio of work spanning education, civic, and workplace, her approach is simultaneously familiar and progressive, presenting clients with an intuitive connection to sustainable thinking. Additional notable projects include an all-electric civic center for the Town of Atherton and the Kelsey Civic Center, which delivers critically needed affordable housing for 112 residents, 25% of which are reserved for people with disabilities.

Prior to joining WRNS Studio, Emily gained experience at internationally recognized firms in New York City and Los Angeles. She earned her Master of Architecture from Columbia University, where she was a graduate teaching assistant in the architecture program. She is a Visiting Critic for third-year architecture students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a member of the City of Mountain View Development Review Committee.
