This mixed-use residential tower responds to the Bay Area’s urgent need for housing while enriching downtown Berkeley’s urban fabric. Careful massing and design respect the city’s character: a brick facade with punched windows grounds the building in its surroundings, while slanted upper levels preserve views of UC Berkeley’s iconic Campanile. At street level, the project activates Shattuck Avenue’s BART Plaza and introduces an Art Walk, entry plaza, and community art space along Allston Way. A stormwater-filtering green roof and balcony plantings integrate nature, balancing growth with environmental responsibility.
