Joel Williams

Joel Williams, LEED AP BD+C
Architect

Since joining WRNS Studio in 2007, Joel has participated in a wide range of design projects including university master planning, parking garages, medical office buildings, ranger stations and most recently, elementary schools. Joel enjoys crafting spaces that not only encourage kids to learn basic subjects such as math, language and history, but that foster an understanding and creative exploration of the environment in which they live. As a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Joel has experience in designing architecture to maximize energy efficiency and sustainability by utilizing strategies such as natural ventilation, solar harvesting, as well as rain water and grey water reuse.

Prior to joining WRNS, Joel spent several years working in custom residential architecture at Anderson Anderson Architects in San Francisco and Jonathan Stoumen Architects in Healdsburg.

Joel spent most of his high school years in East Africa, graduating from Maxwell Academy near Nairobi, Kenya. He earned a B.S. in Engineering Technology from Pacific Union College in Napa County and the M.Arch. from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
